2. Key Applications & Uses

  • High-Efficiency Acylation Catalyst: Extensively used for the acylation of alcohols (such as acetylation, benzoylation, and pivaloylation). It is exceptionally effective for esterification reactions involving sterically hindered or highly sensitive tertiary alcohols and phenols (e.g., Steglich esterification).

  • Pharmaceutical & Agrochemical Intermediates: Serves as a crucial reaction catalyst and intermediate in the synthesis of various complex Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs, such as valacyclovir intermediates) and crop protection chemicals.

  • Other Organic Syntheses: Frequently applied in Baylis-Hillman reactions, silylation reactions, amine protection, isocyanate reactions, and as a curing accelerator for polymers like epoxy resins.

3. Storage, Handling & Safety

⚠️ Safety Precautions & Hazard Warning

This product is classified as a highly toxic and corrosive chemical. It is readily absorbed through the skin and can cause severe skin burns and eye damage.Personnel must wear comprehensive Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including chemical protective clothing, specialized chemical-resistant gloves (nitrile/rubber), and a full-face respirator. Avoid inhalation of dust, fumes, or gases.

  • Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated dedicated hazardous chemical warehouse. Recommended storage temperature should be kept below 30°C. Keep container tightly sealed and protected from light. Store away from acids and strong oxidizing agents.

  • Packaging: Standard packaging is 25 kg/fiber drum (internally lined with double-layer PE sealed bags), or custom small-volume packaging based on specific customer requirements.
